During expedition to Wrangel Island a live baby mammoth was found sleeping in a man-made cryogenic sarcophagus. The obsessed scientist leading the expedition decides to keep the discovery in a secret from the public and pass it off as the result of his cloning work. The baby mammoth is to be dissected to obtain material for cloning and research. Young schoolkids who accidentally discover that it is intelligent come to the baby mammoth aid. They help the baby mammoth escape and return to Wrangel Island to uncover the secret of its origin.
